What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a type of treatment that may be needed when health problems make it hard to move around and do everyday tasks. Physiotherapy may help you feel better and relieve pain. It can make daily tasks easier, such as going up stairs.  Physiotherapy can also help with recovery after surgeries.

What does a physiotherapist do?

Your physiotherapy will do an assessment and talk to you about your symptoms and daily activities. He or she will then work with you on a treatment plan to fit your needs. The goals being to help your joints move better, store flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination, and/or balance. Physiotherapy almost always includes exercise. It can be stretching, core exercises, weight lifting, and walking. Your physiotherapist may teach you an exercise program so you can learn it at home.

We currently have three physiotherapist on staff, Betty Lou Hunt, Amol Ajgaonkar, and Janelle Vandermeer.
